This past Saturday was the annual Gold Country Community Awards Meeting at Lou La Bonte’s in Auburn, CA.

The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal was presented to retired Auburn Police Chief Valerie Harris.  The Fire Safety Commendation medal went to Captain James Turner of Nevada County Fire. The Emergency Medical Services Commendation Medal went to Captain Mike Deme of CAL FIRE/Placer County Fire Sunset Station 77. The Medal for Heroism was presented to 11 year old Boy Scout James Fackrell.
